Surat Al-Qamar (Arabic: سورة القمر‎) (The Moon) is the 54th sura of the Quran with 55 ayat. Some verses refer to the Splitting of the moon. "Qamar" (القمر), meaning "'Moon" in Arabic, is also a common name among Muslims.

This sura surah makkiyah classified, consisting of 55 verses. Named Al-Qamar, which means the Moon comes from the word Al-Qamar contained in the first paragraph of this letter. In this verse be explained about the splitting of the moon as a miracle of Prophet Muhammad.
